We all know how hot it gets in Havasu, and that business can simply shut down during this time. The amount of people in town is far fewer with many snowbirds heading back up north where it is cooler.
This can cut down on the amount of traffic that your business receives and hence the amount of sales you make. In this article I’m going to tackle a couple ways that you can increase business throughout the summer months.
Because we are web design firm, my first recommendation is to enhance your website. A better website presence will translate into more sales, even during the slower months. Believe it or not people still do move to town and come through on vacation in the summertime.
My next tip is to offer a special deal or discount for summer visitors. Try not to just discount your services but instead add a value offer. This means when they buy one thing they might get another thing for free or at a discounted rate.
Another good sales technique is to run a loss leader. A lost leader is a product or service that is popular enough for people to seek it out regularly, that you’re going to offer at or below cost. The goal here is to drive traffic to your store or business with the intention of the customer purchasing more than just the loss leader.
My final suggestion is to advertise more heavily. This could be on social media and the local newspaper, on the radio station or a combination of all of it. Your natural inclination might be to reduce advertising during the summer months, but this is what your competition will also be thinking.
It’s best to strike while the competition is sleeping, so to speak. Many of the advertising firms, such as the newspaper, the radio station and others will offer discounts during the summer months, so your advertising can get more bang for the buck.
Whatever you do, it’s important to continually invest in your business, even during the slow months. This will allow you to have a strong business for the rest of the year when the snowbirds start to return to town in the fall.
That’s all I have for now enjoy the summer and try to stay cool!
