Did you know that Havasu has its very own creative group networking meeting? That’s right, the Creative Comrades is a group that meets once a week in Havasu and discusses how to work together in creative pursuits. This may be as artwork, graphic design, painting, web design, photography, craft-making, or any other type of artistic expressions that are being discussed.
It’s a really neat group and it’s led and founded by Amy Spitzer who runs a graphic design company of the same name. Check out her website amyspitzer.com. Creative Comrades is a really neat group, and I highly encourage anyone who is in the creative world to check it out!
As it web designer, I often find it hard to find other corelated industry professionals to network with and to learn from. This is where Creative Comrades really comes into play, because it allows me to rub shoulders with and bounce ideas off other creative folks in our local community.
Lake Havasu City is such a small town and there really is a limited amount of people focused on creating art and creative artwork pieces that is nice to have someone to network worth and to bounce ideas off and to get inspiration from.
The next meeting for April will be very cool as they are mixing things up a bit. Visitors are encouraged to bring small art pieces with a value of about $5 to sell or trade. The item that you bring will be displayed on tables next to other artists pieces, so you can bring your business card to place by the art so that people can connect with you if they are interested in your artwork.
Ideas for the art pieces are of course art, but also photographs, handmade items or anything that you can create and they’re willing to trade or sell for $5. If you don’t have anything to bring, it’s not a problem, just show up anyways and enjoy everyone’s company.
The music selection for the event will all be vinyl records, so expect very eclectic music selections being spun live. Creative Comrades is a monthly meet up for all entrepreneurs and creative Professionals in Lake Havasu City area. It is put together with partnerships and sponsorships by Arizona State University, Lake Havasu City Partnership for Economic Development and the College Street Brewhouse & Pub.
